Re: Very slow connection :(
Thats quite a high attenuation, how far from the exchange are you? Also how many telephone sockets are there on your tel line?

Re: Very slow connection :(
Doubtful. On G.DMT the Sky router reports a maximum attenuation of 63.5db i.e. yours could be even higher. If it is "only" 63.5 then an exceptionally quiet line might support 3meg, the average would be around 1.5-2meg.
To find out what is possible you need to do a comparison connection using the test socket which you will find hidden inside your master, assuming you have an NTE5 master socket.

Re: Very slow connection :(
Find a line fault with BT 17070
One problem that can effect your broadband connection is a noisy or crackly line.
The BT test number 17070 can be used to check the line works and is free from noise.
It will do a quiet line test, option 2 (allows you to listen for noise)
plug one phone into the test socket with no extensions
If the have found that the line is faulty, then you can contact BT faults on 151

Re: Very slow connection :(
But dont mention Broadband though, just mention phone call noise. However as Saturday says the best way to check is to do a comparison from the test socket.
