      Hi guys

      Been a lurker on here for quite a bit now and really need your help.

      I have just moved into a new build property in manchester city centre (about a mile from the nearest exchange)
      I decided to go for SKY BB as a few mates have it and get really good speeds and never had probs with it

      When i called sky to arrange BB to be fitted they did a test and said i could get upto 1 meg on my line!!! So they stuck me on Connect.

      I was annoyed to say the least as i've just moved from round the corner where i was getting 4-5meg with demon.

      Now as it's round the corner from my previous flat i'm guessing it's a problem with the line in the flat/phone port/line to the exchange (not sure how it all works really) So my question is .. is there any way i can improve this even slightly? if i have to yell at somebody to get this sorted who would it be? BT/SKY/Building management?

      Your sync has been set at a "test" level. You'll have to call Sky, get through to CST and ask them to sort it out. Your massive resultant noise margin shows that once uncapped your sync should go much higher.

      BTW, your Skyuser profile says Base but in your post you say you're on Connect. Which is it? Please adjust your profile accordingly.

      CST or customer solutions team are the people who have the powers to make changes to your line. But unfortunately you have to go through Tier 1 to get to CST A.K.A tier 2/3.

      Ok .. i've just spoke to tech support - she put me through after the usual tests and they said i was on the wrong stream?!? He said he's basically gonna change it within the next 10 days which should improve it to at least 2.5 meg

      Does this sound about right?

      Just to confirm. You are on base. Which is 2meg.

      no, they are on connect. Their line was set to IP stream home office 250, which caps the line at 288/288. this is a BT product, not Sky, so they are on connect.

      With you line stats, I would say you should get 8mbps no problem, but that is still dependant on your overall line condition. Best to wait and see once BT make the changes to your line.

      ^ what he said...

      normal Sky Connect product is IPStream Max, so just needs a quick regrade logged to BT and should be done by Tuesday, when the 10-day bed in will begin - so make sure setup your end is correct to allow best speed
