Whoops, sorry about that give it another reboot soon and hopefuly it will increase.

looking at your downstream, it would seem it made no difference and will be the cap (and blew my theory right out the window), i am at a loss at to why the upstream is worse

i know all my filters are working...it seems if i switch between them ,like now i have swapped to the filter i had in this morning and look at my stats now.

my connection upstream has gone back up and the nm,it always does this when i change filters.and they are all new ones.

      Re: if i upgrade?

last 2 things i just wanted to suggest, do you have any other filters you could try (did see in an earlier post, that you have changed one)
and have you ever done a quiet line test ?

(use a corded phone plugged into the test socket (so BB or filter), dial 17070 then option 2, do you here any noise ?

looking back over your posts, there does still seem something a bit off (apart from being capped a couple of hours after being put upto speed)
with your attenuation and a clean line, you should get 8meg connection with noise margin to spare.
not very sure i have helped much, but as BT say, its good to talk

Edit: as i was fafing about, you beat me to it with the filters

i did have a fault on my line that sounded like it was raining ,but bt fixed that and its gone...i just dont understand how sky can vary so much..they did get my line upto 8 meg earlier and 10 mins later it dropped. maybe i should call them again tomorrow. (i think they close at 11pm)

which router do you have ?

(if by any chance you had the white netgear, there is a way to get detailed stats, which show a bit more of whats going on with your connection, but if you have either the V2 netgear or the sagem, there is not yet this utility )
