What speeds can I expect when I get connected?
Hi everyone
I'm just about to leave BT Broadband to join Sky (getting 8MB at the moment on the Hoyland exchange). What speeds can I expect to get? The samknows website shows :
Broadband availability overview
ADSL: Yes
SDSL: Yes (via LLU operator)
LLU services: Yes
Cable: No
Wireless: No
BT Wholesale information
ADSL status: Enabled as of 11/06/2003
ADSL Max status: Enabled as of 31/03/2006
SDSL status: Not available
21CN WBC status: RFS date set: 19/05/2009
21CN PSTN switchover target: Q3 2010
I have no idea what this will mean?
Will i stay with 8MB or get 16MB? The sky checking thing says between 8-16MB...
Thanks for help in advance
Craig

Re: What speeds can I expect when I get connected?
Hi Craig.
Could you post your router stats, along with some details of how you are connected ( on an extension or the master socket. Are you using wireless or cable between router an computer)

Re: What speeds can I expect when I get connected?
Your exchange is Sky LLU, so you will get anything from 1mb to 16mb depending on the quality and length of your phone line.

Re: What speeds can I expect when I get connected?
Thanks for the reply, the phone line was a new install last year by BT (didn't have a line into the house before we moved in). Hopefully will get a nice fast speed

Re: What speeds can I expect when I get connected?
Looking at your line attenuation if you have ordered the max package you could be looking at getting the full 16000 kbps. With your line attenuation upload speed as it is about the same as mine i am guessing you will get around 600 kbps upload speed.
