      Help Sky max slow speeds

      Hi,

Firstly i have read quite a lot of the posts and fixes already posted. i have open DNS set on my mashine and i have unplugged every thing except the v2 router from the phone line. i think im using the master socket. ( im in a flat and there is a double socket in the lounge and a single in the bed room, its in the first port in the lounge )

I got a 15meg on tiscallys speed checker on the test week ( don't trust them as far as i can throw em ) and the web was ultra fast even with 2 pc's downloading via bittorrent, but now im getting speeds of around 4mb from Speedtest.net

      this from sky user test:

Your download speed is 568Kbps. Your upload speed is 401Kbps. Your ISP is Easynet

on the weekend it was unusable.

      my stats are as follows:

      Router Statistics

      System Up Time: 01:13:10

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time

      WAN PPPoA 6099 5742 0 2578 7956 00:12:08

      LAN 100M/Full 799 0 0 34 0 01:13:06
      WLAN 54M 132995 164854 0 21384 17806 01:12:52

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15323 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20 db 5 db
Noise Margin 11 db 19 db

      all help appreciated!

wired or wireless? your stats look good

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15323 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20 db 5 db
Noise Margin 11 db 19 db

i suspect either someone else is flogging your connection to death or you have flakey wifi

in fact having seen the comment about 2 pcs downloading torrents......

      using wireless.

but these tests where done with bit torrent not running, and last week during testing we had both pc's downloading with a 2mb limit on 1 and 4mb limit on the other and the speedtest showed 6mb while they where running!

the speeds seem really variable, is there a way of getting sky to fix my speed? is there a specific way of asking them?

do a wired test, wireless is prone to interference which affects your speed

sky are sending you the full monty
