Very Slow speed on Sky connect. Please Help

      Hi there.
Bit new to this so go easy with me
Signed up to sky connect 8Mb. When i set up the broadband over the phone with the sky people the told me i should be getting a speed of about 5mb as distance from telephone exchange etc. This is no where near what im getting. Its really slow. Ive tried speedtst.net and am only getting

I have emailed sky and they told me that these sites were unreliable and to type in http://192.168.0.1/ then click on show statistics and email them to sky. This is what i got:
      Router StatisticsSystem Up Time: 01:22:58

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 3611 3971 0 1551 5738 00:11:45
      LAN 100M/Full 34159 25852 0 7566 1031 01:22:54
      WLAN 11M/54M 422 0 0 17 0 01:22:41
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1088 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 36 db 12 db
Noise Margin 7 db 23 db

Am i right in saying that my speed is 1088kbps? This is surely to slow considering is was told i would get 5Mb? I have my computer plugged in through the earthnet cable into an bt extension box upstairs. After reading a few posts on here i thought it might be a dodgy connection upstairs. So i moved my computer downstairs and plugged the router straight into the test point on the master bt box. Still no joy, exactly the same speed. Sorry if this is an essay but im at my wits end with this really.
      Thanks for your help....Neil

      Hi there.
Thanks for quick reply. No these are not from the test socket. Thses are from the upstairs socket which is a extention from the main bt one.Shall i try the main socket and post the figures like I did before?

would you mind getting some stats from the test socket, i know you have tried this before and got the same speed, but i just wabt to check what you max connection (with your attenuation you should sync at 8meg, but from the stats you only connect at just over 1 meg, this would lead mo to think the extention is the first problem)

once we know if the extention is the problem we can move on (again, with the connect package it connects and downloads at the best possible speed, but if your line conditions improve it may take up to 3 days for your BRAS file to change, will go into more depth after stats from the test socket)

yeah, thats with the faceplate removed. Looked at your pics the other day. Was a good help although i was hoping for a better result when i tried it. I thought it was the extension line. Ive emailed sky but i takes them ages to reply...useless..haha
