If you can post your router stats, maybe someone can shed some light on it.
Are you close to your exchange for instance?

You should get quite a lot faster than that attenuation. Have you tried the master socket and made sure there's a microfilter on everything?

      Hi,

I got the same think, I have Max but I'll only getting about 4.5Mb/s and 3.5Mb/s after 8 pm (for which I have to reboot the router to get the internet back). I live just over a mile from the exchange and the router is plugged into the master socket.

Is there any website that can tell you if your exchange is ADSL 2 enabled as I'm not sure if it is. My exchange is Enfield if any one can tell me.

After going on http://www.btwholesale.com/get_broadband/index.html and keying in my phone number BT told me I should be able to get 4.5Mb/s or more with BT Max that is a max of 8Mb/s, leading me on to believe sky is only pumping 8Mb/s down my line not 24Mb/s for ADSL 2.

Enfield is Easynet enabled, so you can theoretically get upto 16 meg.

Thanks for that Andy_G have to ring up sky this week to see what the hell is going on with the speed. I'm also getting annoyed have to re-boot my router at around 8pm to get it to re-negotiate the speed and get the internet back.

Wonder if my old router would be any better.

      speedtest results

my speed results. This is my first post so here goes.

I have just within the last 2 days transfered from Tesco broadband and assumed that I would have the 8 meg download speed as per the bt web site, but looking at the results I am only getting 1 meg.

I am only 700m from my exchange on the sky max connection. I have tried different speed sites and they all give different results, so I take everything with a pinch of salt. I have tried the optimizer link and i get no different results.
