Re: Sky max and disconnections
Looking at your stats, you have a terribly low noise margin and this is almost certainly the cause of your problem.
"Bad service"? No, nothing to do with Sky. I'm afraid your line is noisy and it's down to you to sort it out.
Start off by reading the first sticky in my signature which explains noise margin etc. Then go to the cabling and faceplate help forum for info on diagnosing and fixing line issues. If you have any questions/problems, post back.

Re: Sky max and disconnections
Where does the OP say (and why do you think) that it's a V1 router?

Re: Sky max and disconnections
Thanks for the replies.
So far ive changed some cables and now get results:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5920 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 43 db 12 db
Noise Margin 4 db 14 db
The downstream noise margin keeps moving around 1 to 4. The upstream is a steady 14.
Yeah sorry i probably do have the wrong router in my profile, says on the box netgear adsl2+

Re: Sky max and disconnections
it now drops to 2147483646 db or 0 db, which is i believe a d/c? although im still connected...
Ive started a line check with BT.
Currently im going through the points made on this site:

Re: Sky max and disconnections
Rebooted again and:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5792 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 43 db 12.5 db
Noise Margin 3 db 6 db
hovers between 1 and 3.
Im going to see if the line check ive done with BT brings up anything.
