Down to 1.8kbps, I see a trend here......
Still not panicking yet

Re: Day 1 of new connection - anyone have a crystal ball?
Day 4 - Saturday.
System Up Time: 0:10:56
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 8764 10436 0 0 0 0:10:15
LAN 11220 9409 0 0 0 0:10:56
WLAN 0 0 0 0 0 0:00:00
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2048 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 36.0 db 21.0 db
Noise Margin 8.9 db 9.0 db
Back up to 2048 - with everything above taken into consideration, can anyone with a little more ability than me deduce whether 2mb is about all I'm going to get?
What 'should' I get with the above figures and what is the ideal noise margin?
Thank you.

Re: Day 1 of new connection - anyone have a crystal ball?
are you still in the "test Socket" , your upstream noise margin seems to be moving (not that much from 7 to 9) which still looks a little low to me
(above may mean nothing during the training process)Links

Re: Day 1 of new connection - anyone have a crystal ball?
No, not still in the test socket - the comparison figures of each were virtually identical, noise, attenuation and synch speeds all the same.
As I said before I am happy with a 2mb connection (better than 33.6!). But I wondered what the course of the training runs like!?
Thanks for everyones input so far - am rapidly learning!

Re: Day 1 of new connection - anyone have a crystal ball?
Ooooh Interesting, according to the wonderful Samknows.....
You are connected to the Haydon Wick telephone exchange.
ADSL is available in your area
Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL Max services
According to BT Wholesale, your phone line should be able to support a 8Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.
Standard ADSL RAG results:
You can receive 2Mbps ADSL
You can receive 1Mbps ADSL
You can receive 512Kbps ADSL
You can receive 256Kbps ADSL
However, there is another service on your phone line (e.g. ADSL, LLU, DACS, etc) that would prevent you from ordering a new ADSL connection.
Any comments / advice?
