connection speed dropping
Hi
I always used to connect at around 5200-5500 Kbps and had a download speed of around 5100Kbps which I was very happy with. However in my quest for more speed I tried connecting via the BT master socket (behind faceplate) result-success syncing at 5888kbps & downloads up to 5500Kbps so as a result I have ordered a XTE 2005 faceplate however after replacing the bt faceplate & returning to normal I notice my connection has dropped from above connection speed to 3456 Kbps.
Can anyone tell me does the Sky connection work the same as ADSL max whereby too many disconnections will be seen as the Router being unable to remain steady at that connection speed (as when carrying this out I had several reconnects ) & therefore sync at a lower rate, & therefore is my only option to wait a few days until it resets or am I on the wrong track
Thanks.

Re: connection speed dropping
Your stats don't appear to show that your connection is capped but they do suggest that your line is noisy.
In fiddling around with your faceplate it looks like you have introduced a little noise, possibly one of the wires or connectors isn't making contact properly. Don't worry about it as the old faceplate/connection will be replaced by the new faceplate.
If that's not the cause then it could be just something else coincidentally changing at the same time e.g. the Christmas lights going up (could even be the neighbour's not yours), you've had a move around and something electrical is now causing interference etc.
See how things are with the new faceplate and post back if there are still problems.
