Help ...My NEW line stats
Hi
I’ve recently had my bad line replaced by BT. Originally my downstream line attenuation was 56dp which you can see below has dropped to 15.5db but my connection speed has not changed. Is this because sky have fixed my speed due to my bad line??
Do i need to contact sky to ‘resync’ or ‘test’ my line (sorry bit of a noob).
Any help/advise much appreciated.

Re: Help ...My NEW line stats
You SNR/ Noise margin is still low, the attenuation is good but there is still something not right on the line. How is the router connected, are there any extension lines in place, are filters in place on all outlets that have something plugged into them?

Re: Help ...My NEW line stats
Thanks for your reply!
My noise margin has increased from around 7. Bt replaced my 'white box' with a new type with filter intergrated. I dont have any extension leads router is at white box and connected along with sky+ and phone.
I'll retest with sky+ disconnected.
With the improvement i've seen do you think sky will adjust or recheck my connection speed?
Thanks
No change with shy and phone disconnected!!Last edited by richypat07; 28-12-07 at 08:23 AM.

Re: Help ...My NEW line stats
Any changes they make to your config will not be dramatic speed wise. BT have fitted a pre-filtered plate? I take it that it is a proper test socket back box with a pre-filtered front, if it is then you have a test socket you can check to make sure that the faceplate is working properly, try the test socket with just the router plugged into a filter, if the readings are the same there is not much you can do about the SNR/ noise margin.
You can of course call Tech support and tell them you were previously capped and would like to go through checks for slow connection so that CST can check your setup and remove the cap if possible.
