New Connect Connection Slow - What to do?
Hi All.
I''ve just recieved my Sky router and set it all up and i've got a 4.5mb sync (down from 5.5 on Be, ADSL2) but only getting 0.2 / 0.3 mb on speed testes, sub 512k connection.
I've read about the training period etc but the issue is that Sky switched me (or rather BT did) before Sky even new what was happening so my Bebox from Be was still plugged in. I un plugged it when I worked out what was going on until today when the sky router arrived.
Anyway, do I phone Sky now and tell them or do I have to wait a further whatever days up to the 10 day training period. It's not the sync that's a problem , it appears to be restricted elsewhere.

Re: New Connect Connection Slow - What to do?
Seems sorted now. Left it off for 30 mins and then back on again and after an hour or 2 it seems to now give me a speed test of 3.9 on a 4.7 sync so all seems good.

There is a 10 day initial training period on the Connect package, you may want to post your stats so that people can let you know what your line is likely to do.

Re: New Connect Connection Slow - What to do?
Hi
It seems up and down. Speed tests can be as low as 0.2mb or as much as 3.4 (sync's only fluttuated a little). Sync speed is what I'ld expect (having come from BE with a sync , reliably of 5.5). Looks like a contention issue to me. Hows' Sky's BT central(s)?, are they congested or anything or the sort.
Exchange looks OK on samknows.com.

Re: New Connect Connection Slow - What to do?
High attenuation and low SNR, not a good mix, your speed may be up and down for the 10 day period but you may need to look at your line conditions to try and make an improvement. How are you connected to the line, what else is plugged into the telephone line and is everything filtered?

Re: New Connect Connection Slow - What to do?
Same at master socket , stats wise. The line is poor but it's the actual real speed that is fluctuating too wildy to be somethign with cabling.
Just switched from BE with a slightly faster sync and actual throughput to match it whereas with this connect connection it's varying way too much.
All the time the sync stays as is at 4.5 or thereabouts.
