      new to sky

hi , have have been up and running now after migrating from virgin for 48hrs so far, no problems and certainly faster, however i have one question which someone might be able to answer for me
when i first checked my speed i went to control panel, network connections, and there was the icon clicked on it and it gave me 4.1 , i then went on the computer last night checked again, and the icon has gone from network connections, question is where has it disappered to can anyone help, it hasnt affected things in anyway, i was just wondering how it could have happened, and is that the best way to ascertain the speed of my connection of is there something better regards dave

^^^ Log in to your router by typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your browser; Username is Admin and Password Sky. The downstream connection speed is shown on the first page displayed.

      Re: new to sky

the thing in network connections is the internet gateway, a tell-tale sign of UPnP in action and will prob cause issues later on (unless u have the new black router)

you can turn it off in the router pages through the advanced>upnp section...

as said, log into the router and the rouer status page has ur down/upstream rates on it
