      Line noise question

Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie with all these BB terms.
Would like to know if I have a noisy line with the stats below.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4096 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 33.0 db 21.5 db
Noise Margin 22.4 db 14.0 db

I can post detailed stats if they are required instead.
I just don't understand what I'm looking at or how interpret the numbers.
      Many thanks for your patience

PS - Great site, so much useful info

      Re: Line noise question

Yes, as richone54 says, you have been capped - quite aggressively actually.

Whether you have a noisy line or not is impossible to say. That would be the obvious reason why Sky have capped you but the stats you have posted don't give this information. Detailed stats may help but your very high noise margin (due to the capping) will mask any line errors e.g. if the stats show low errors then that simply reflects the high noise margin and you may have or may not have a noisy line - if they show high errors then you have a very noisy line.

Two bits of reading may help you understand a bit more: the first sticky in my signature and the stickies in the router stats forum.
