Sky MAX any day - What speed 'should' I expect?
I'm just waiting for my router to arrive then I'll be changing from an expensive 1Mbit service to Sky MAX. I've got terrible line stats and currently can only download at a max of 100K/sec
Can I hope for any speed increase by switching to Sky's ADSL2+?
These are my current line stats:
Up Speed 288000
Down Speed 1152000
SNR 10.5
Loop Att 62
The estate where I live seems to suffer with a really bad phone line network as most people on my street suffer similar stats.
Anything more than what I alread get will be great!
Also, what upload speed does MAX support? Currently I'm uploading at around 30k/sec.
Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum, especially since we are both in Long Eaton,
Home of the cardboard policeman.(Unless hes been stolen!)
I put your attenuation figure into the speed checker, click on tools and tutorials, lots of useful stuff there.
It says you could expect between 2 and 3 mbps download.
I'm on the mid package and get around 320kbps upload, I think its around twice this on max.

The Cardboard Policeman HAS been stolen lol! It was on Radio 1!
I'll be happy with 2-3Mbps as I'm currently just getting 1!
The upload will be nice if I get around 60k/second.
penrhyn - How are you finding Sky BB? Where abouts are you in sunny LE? I'm on the Dovedale estate.
Also, does the sky router get delivered by courier? There's a postal strike till next Wednesday!

Re: Sky MAX any day - What speed 'should' I expect?
They still have a cardboard cop in Breaston Co-op, perhaps Geoff Hoon's protection squad is looking after it.
I'm on Pennyfields btw.
When I migrated from Orange this time last year I was without BB for 3 months, took that length of time for a Tier 3 guy to get BT to do a Tie pair shift.(Faulty DSLAM port problem).
Since then its been working fine, attenuation is 46db and I sync consistently at 8Mbps.
Hope it all goes well for you.
Yes the router was delivered by courier, can't remember which one.

Re: Sky MAX any day - What speed 'should' I expect?
Update. It switched over last night to Sky MAX.
Initially it was up and down for the first 30 minutes but seems to have settled.
I'm downloading at around 330K/sec now compared to my previous 100K/sec. Uploads have gone up to nearly double at around 60K/sec.
So far so good!
Next thing is to figure out how to log onto my sky account. I think I'm doing something wrong but can't figure out what!
