OK, That program only work's on a PC, I'm currently using a Mac. If you feel I really need to use that program I'm happy to get whatever info you need. Otherwise here's the stats I have of my router:

At one point it was sync'in with ADSL 2+, but I'm not sure if that means my line can support it...

Re: Speed dropped. No longer supports ADSL 2+, lower sync at BT socket.

Something is up with your line or something on your line is putting interference into the line. The SNR in your results is very low, were the results from your master socket?

This is plugged into the master socket. I haven't diconnected the extention that's also wired in. I will do this and get the results again later.

Re: Speed dropped. No longer supports ADSL 2+, lower sync at BT socket.

Here is the line stats now I've unwired the rest of the house. I do not have a master socket, there is a junction on the wall. But there is absolutly no wires going anywhere else when I performed this test. Strait through the wall > junction > socket > router. The cable from the junction to the socket is around 2 meters.

Re: Speed dropped. No longer supports ADSL 2+, lower sync at BT socket.

SNR is also related to your current sync, if there is nothing else going on internally, then it must be an external fault - you will need to get BT to fix it

Re: Speed dropped. No longer supports ADSL 2+, lower sync at BT socket.

Ok, thanks for the response. 4.5mb seems to be ok, just wasn't sure if I could get more out of it.

On the other line in our house, we've just got o2 broadband (still relevant..) this seems to be synchronising at 8.4mb with a bad snr. How come this line is able to sync at ADSL 2+ with a bad SNR when my Sky service can't?

Is it because it's new and o2 are likely to stop the ADSL2+ service like Sky?

Re: Speed dropped. No longer supports ADSL 2+, lower sync at BT socket.

Maybe O2 doesn't care if your connection drops, synching at a high speed with a bad snr is just asking for drop outs and problems.

In reference to that last stats, here is a speed test:

Namesco BroadbandMax Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL connection speed

How on earth could the speed be so bad with such a high sync? I'm the only one connected to it!
