Thinking about trying for uncapped after seeing my neighbours stats

Posted on here a long time ago, pondering wether to bother trying to go from G.DMT to ADSL2+. My neighbour (2 doors away) was recently connected, and was put straight onto ADSL2+. As he doesent seem to have had any connection problems etc, it has stirred my interest once again. Here are his stats, followed by mine.....

No way of knowing for sure unless you try but there's no reason to presume you wouldn't get a much different connection than your neighbour. Theoretically you'd get ~10 meg with your attenuation but your neighbour is getting 9 meg.

If you got the same as him, is an increase of less than a meg worth it? With your (and his attenuation) you're really borderline for ADSL2+ and G.DMT is likely to give a more stable connection. That said, personally I'd go for it as once on ADSL2+ you can change mode yourself if you wanted to.

BTW in case you're wondering, your attenuation is lower than his because you're G.DMT.

thanks for the input Saturday, i didnt know this, and it definerly makes me more keen to give it a try, knowing i can go back to as before myself, than having to contact sky again. Is this done via the ssme util i ised to produce those stats?.

If you got the same as him, is an increase of less than a meg worth it?

i suppose it is subjective, but having tested his connection with my newsgroup access, he does get an extra 140k/s over me, which would be handy for zippy browsing speed, when i am using the NG's at the sametime.

Just got to decide the easiest (or more sure fire) way to get them to do it now.

Yes it is.
