      Test socket speed / actual socket speed

      What the? My normal socket speed is

      DownStream Connection Speed 8607 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 764 kbps

      but my test socket speed is somethin along the lines of -

      DownStream Connection Speed 12421 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 764 kbps

      Can someone explain to me?

      that you have bad wiring from the master onwards and it needs replacing - get an XTE-2005 faceplate from ADSLNation and this will resolve ur issues

      It's ok, I figured it out. I have the router plugged into the extension socket in my room, but the speeds were different to the test socket. So I took out all the wires but 2 and 5 (3 was the only one I had to take out, the rest weren't there) and then the same for the extension socket and now the stats have gone from 8000kbps to 12000kbps. Not too bad. Hopefully this will resolve my stability issues - LCP down etc.

      keep an eye on the errors/SNR as extentions are notorious at creating noise on a line and making connecton drop...
