Your downstream sync is a meg or so lower than your attenuation would support on a relatively clean line - so some improvement may be possible.

Your download speed is too high for your sync (i.e. faster than physically possible allowing for transmission overheads) but your upload isn't. Try a better speedtester such as Skyuser's.

I don't know why this thread has been allowed to run for so long, speedtest.net has been proved time and again to be inaccurate. As an example here is my result -

Note that I am on Mid syncing at 8188kbps

Why not close this thread and use a tester with some credibility like Skyuser?

For some reason when using sky download test it isn't allowing you to copy the info. Shame about that.

      Its working today

      (up to) Download
      Speed (Kbps) Upload 635 Kbps
      Speed (Kbps) download 11088 Kbps

Re: **run a speedtest and post your results here**

Why do I mess with things?!

I've just managed to get the SKY CST about 10 minutes ago, and asked if they could up the noise margin on my downstream. Previously getting 11db Down/17db Up. After some faffing and training by the CST I have now got this -

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16380 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 23 db 12 db
Noise Margin 9 db 13 db

      Worse off!

Not sure why you requested a higher noise margin as that would reduce your sync.

You have a fantastic connection: you're syncing at the max that Sky offers and still have noise margin to "spare". What's the problem?
