Great site chaps, loads of helpful stuff here. Anyway, SKY technical support told me that my line was capable of 18meg, but it has been set at 13.3 to support the best connection reliability.

Regarding Steve's post to the OP - irrelevant...the speed test he posted compared to sync speed is pretty much spot on...

given, the Connect threads are worth noting, but at the time of the first post they weren't needed...

Sky offer up to 16meg - your sync is a shade higher, so no, it can't be better than that.

Re: **run a speedtest and post your results here**

I have taken a speed test using the speedtest.net website that lots of users say is not that good, that result is at the bottom.

I also have tryed the skyuser speed test and got, "Your current download speed is 8520Kbps, and your current upload speed is 638Kbps. "

Which isn't that far away from the speedtest.net reading.

Also is my speed test correct for my connection stats.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10239 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 40.0 db 23.3 db
Noise Margin 5.8 db 13.0 db

      Connection Speed 384 kbps / 409 kbps
      Line Attenuation 62,0 dB / 38,8 dB
      Noise Margin 9,0 dB / 15,0 db

Test was done direct into the network card with sky-netgear router DG834GT

I've done a test at BT, and it seams that with my number the max I can get is only 400 kbps
