@Khristian
Yes, that's a good sync for your attenuation (line length) but you haven't posted a speedtest (which is what this thread is about).
@Moooaaannn and snooper6
A speedtest without your router stats, plus whether you're wired or wireless, is meaningless I'm afraid. i.e. your speeds may be great or terrible (for your connection) but there's no way of telling without that info.

Re: **run a speedtest and post your results here**
Your sync is quite low for your attenuation i.e. there's a noise problem somewhere but you probably already know that? When with Sky my attenuation was the same as yours but I'd sync at ~12500kbps.
Your speedtest result is about right for your sync - upload is a little low but that's quite common with some speedtesters. Try speed.io, their upload test is usually pretty accurate in my experience.

Re: **run a speedtest and post your results here**
Yes there is a noise problem,done everything including filtered faceplate.The problem is with the line coming to my house.As you know Bt will not do anything as the phone works ok, no crackling hiss etc.
Just done speedtest with speed.io - Internet DSL Speedtest the results are as follows:
Download 7235 upload 667
Thanks for taking another look.
Happy New Year

Re: **run a speedtest and post your results here**
That upload is looking a bit better
Yes, getting BT interested can be a problem. I know someone who had a similar issue i.e. poor line for ADSL but apparently fine for voice. Anyway, turns out that it developed an intermittent voice fault with lots of hiss and crackles but only now and then, so it didn't show up on the initial BT line test - ever. It also gave problems with fax transmissions (that also matters to BT). He persevered and as it was intermittent, even though BT couldn't detect it, they sent out an engineer. This guy is very friendly and the engineer agreed to take a look at the local cabinet and the drop line. He cleaned up the outside connection and did something in the cabinet and even replaced the ADSL faceplate. Lo and behold, the end result was a 12500kbps sync

Maybe worth giving them a call in the New Year when my phone contract is due for renewal.

Oh,forgot.As the crow flys Im around 3km from exchange,but as a ex BT engineer,I still have the cable diagrams and I would say at a very rough guess the cable length is somewhere between 4-4.5km.Wish I still had 4-tel access to get a true reading.
