      Hi all,
Please help as I shall need a glazier soon (when the computer goes through the window!).

I have sky max. Router stats:

      Connection 11,814 764
      Attenuation 34.5 18.9
      Noise 7.4 12.0

From reading through the forum, my figures seem pretty good - I think, however after running numerous speed tests over the last few days, my average download speed is still only around 2,800.
At 606 the upload speed seems respectable.

I am currently sitting on the Lounge floor with the router connected directly to the test socket within the master socket. I have tried changing and testing numerous filters and cables, but with no improvement.

Please someone, what am I missing!

mikeyg40 - is it just over the last few days you have noticed the slow speed, or is this the first time you have checked ? (was your speedtest higher before)

      Thanks for responding Richone.
I upgraded from Mid about 2 months ago. Prior to that I was getting around 6meg, no dropouts and generally a great service. Since upgrading to max, its been all over the place.
Around 3 weeks ago I downloaded a TV programme from BBCi at a connection speed of around 10,000 - fantastic! However as I said more recently I have struggled to get a quarter of that, even though the router says I am connected at almost 12,000.

Have just carried out two more speed tests showing only 1,000 kbps.

      Mike

if you had not been getting the speed all the time i would have suggested using the optimizer link in my sig (if you were using XP), but as this seems to be a recent thing i would suggest you check for trojans or virus on your computers as they may be using your bandwidth

just to check, you are wired ?

Here's mine any help would be awesome pls
I used to be on BT with no problems, I've checked the speed all day and its alway in the 800's, have tried on laptop, both wired and wireless and with connecting straight into the master socket but still no luck >.<

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1024 kbps 352 kbps
Line Attenuation 63 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 11 db 14 db

This wouldnt usually be a problem as loading of websites is fine etc, problem is however I play WoW and since I've moved here and set this up, I log ingame and then get disconected from game and the internet completely after about 30 secs >.<
