Should I be asking to be moved to ADSL2?

Hi grateful if someone could give these stats the once over and advise if I should be asking to be moved to ADSL2. I am on the mid package btw. Just wonder if i should be seeing more then 4400kbpb from Speedtest.net.

      Thanks

      Graeme

Re: Should I be asking to be moved to ADSL2?

They won't move you to ADSL2+ unless you're on Max. In any event, your attenuation at 39db on G.DMT is borderline for ADSL2+ so you'd probably stay on it anyway.

ADSL2+ offers speed (sync) improvements for short(ish) good quality lines. It doesn't improve throughput. If you're only getting 44000kbps on a 8096kbps sync then there's some other problem.

First off, are you wired or wireless?
If the latter then that's the first thing to check. Run a wired test.

Your stats show a high level of errors which will certainly be contributing to this if not the problem. See the cabling and faceplate help forum for info on diagnosing and fixing line issues.

Also, run TCPoptimizer (see second sticky in my signature).

Re: Should I be asking to be moved to ADSL2?

Thanks for the swift response. I am using wireless and I'll try moving the router to use the test socket on the faceplate and also a lan cable and see if things improve. Also have a latency of over 100 using the Speedtest.net site. Ran TCP Optimiser and some improvement.

      Thanks
