Help, my 10 Month old son has messed up my speed...

      Right, bit of background...

I had moved house back in March, and was convinced of a faulty line.

Then joined sky, who pretty much agreed with me after 2 months of disconnections and awfull speeds, and eventually a coroded line was found just outside my property....

Things is I have 2 quieries as a result.....

      1) What effect would this have on my line, seen as I had my 10 days "training" on a faulty line, and is there anyway I could have a "re-train", as the line is now fixed, or is this not an issue at all.

      2) when the line was fixed, I imediately jumped from a sync speed of around 200kbs right upto 1700kbs, and well pleased I was aswell, and it was absolutely rock solid for about 8 days without a single drop, so 2 parts to this question,
      a) as it was completely rock solid for 8 days, would I be wrong in expecting the system to try and obtain a higher speed?
      b) the most annoying one, is that my 10 month old son decided to pull the plug out of the wall, and as such, my router now thinks it "dropped", and now my sync speed dropped to 1100kbs. How can I at least get it back to the original 1700?

I appreciate I have asked a few questions here, but any help would be appreciated

      Cheers

If, as your skyuser profile says, you're on Mid, then there is no "training period". This only applies to the Connect service.

For info on ADSL and why the router sync speed can change on a reboot (or reconnected after the plug is pulled) see the first sticky in my signature.

You may also wish to get your stats and post them here if you're concerned about them.

Ah, didn't realise there was no training period.....

one thing that could also mess it a little, more, the missus has also just accidently unplugged it......

anyway, upon resync, this is what I get, albeit, it has only just resynced, so it maybe better if i leave it a few hours before posting stats, or doesn't that matter?

Yes, youre right you need to post the stats after being connected for a lot longer (24hs would be good ) and try and give the router some work to do during that time. That will show up any errors that are occuring.
