I think everything is ok but still getting slow downloads
Hi,
I am sure that this has been covered many times before but as a newb to hardware id be very grateful for some pointers. I am on Sky Max and as such expected to have lightening fast downloads (though now i know that this isnt necessarily the case). After getting my router stats my minimum knowledge says that i should be getting very quick downloads, but whenever i use any P2P clients (whether it be a torrent one or ed2k one) my downloads are 99% of the time below 70kbps, and oddly my uploads are nearly always quicker than my downloads (usually hovering around 80kbps). My stats are below and id really appreciate any pointers anyone could give me as to why i seem to be experiencing slow downloads.
Many thanks

Re: I think everything is ok but still getting slow downloads
Yep - agree with dholdi. I wonder whether you've set up port forwarding for your p2p client correctly?

Re: I think everything is ok but still getting slow downloads
Thanks for the replies. Im using Azureus and eMule. I have port forwarding set up on both - or at least im fairly certain i do. Anything else it could be. Maybe there is a better torrent client than the one im using.

Re: I think everything is ok but still getting slow downloads
Well I guess it could be several things but port forwarding is probably the most likely. What results do you get with a speedtest site such as this one? If that gives good results then it certainly looks like you have a port/firewall issue.
