These are my readings, but I am getting seriously annoyed by the amount of down time I am experiencing. Is there a way in which the Netgear Router can be upgraded? I've been on another site that says it can but Sky will not do it???

Your noise margin is 5 which means it could be the cause of your connection dropping out ( downtime resynching ). Try using mognuts utility to cap your snr at 8. this will reduce your connection speed a little bit but will give you a more stable connection.

with an attenuation of 40db, you should be able to get 6-10Mb stable speed.
You are way above this which is why it's unstable.
Take Ian's advice.
