      Simon's speed test

I don't have this test fom my old 1Mb pipex but I used to get 102 kbps downloads out of it.

Now on the full Max package with Sky - was told I'd get 14Mb, the router says that it's connected at 12500 but I only get 2500 in tests:

I worked out the RWIN setting from their instructions and mine was set at something like 17520 when it should've been something more like 65535. The moment I rebooted - the speed changed, but I'm guessing it's a change to something on my pc rather than the router.

I've run the test via Amsterdam and it's much slower:

I've done it for a few other locations and my download speeds are always much lower than for London whilst my uploads are pretty similar where ever I try it, which I find a bit puzzling.

I'm now averaging out at 7Mbs even though I was quoted 14Mbs. Last week I was getting a steady 13 Mbs for a few days.

As mentioned before, I've run the tweaks.

My router is currently showing connection at 11922 kbps

d/s line attenuation is 37.0 db upstream 21.3 db
d/s noise margin 9.4 db up is 12.5 db

I'm 1.44 km from my exchange

      Any ideas ?
