      my current dowload/upload speed

      could be better if i could be bothered to tinker about!

      iam on the very same package and i only get a 3rd of that speed, where iam i going wrong

      The package sets the maximum speed, hence "up to".

      The actual speed achieved depends on the distance from the exchange and the line quality.

      If you post your stats and speedtest result we can advise whether you are getting the speed you could/should.

      Download Speed: 4949 kbps (618.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
      Upload Speed: 218 kbps (27.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

      thats what the speed test says

      @Duff_Beer, that "Line Attenuation 15.5 db 31.5 db" might be a glitch.

      Loads of users have reported there attenuation drop to 15.5db (see threads on "15.5db Attenuation Bug", Simply reboot the router and that should change.

      Your real Downstream attenuation is probably around ~50db+ as you have a very high Upstream.

      Ive been through the optimizer and iam using the test socket on my master socket until my adsl face plate arrives,
      i was just wondering is that the best iam gonna get as iam on sky max

      Yep, Max is "upto 16mb" and based on your attenuation and trying to keep it as stable as possible, Its spot-on.

      ok thanx i guess i cant be greedy ive already nearly doubled my connection by tweaking here and there today,
