      Speed Problems

      Hi,

I am new to the Sky Connect package. The best speed i have had is 2.02mb.
I have try running the Optimizer but still no better.
I am connected to my Netgear router via an ethernet cable - my pc, router and phone line are all within less than half a metre of each other.
I know someone who lives two doors away and is on the same sky package and gets 6mb

Here are my router stats - please help!!!!!

      Welcome to the forum

You're rather jumping the gun. Connect has a 10 day training period and in that time your connection and download speeds may vary enormously. Sit back and relax until you've been connected more than 10 days - then worry about your speed if you need to.

      Re: Speed Problems

Oh - sorry. I took "new" as just connected.

Your router has synced at 5792kbps which is very good for your attenuation.

If you've used TCPoptimizer and you're getting slow download speeds with a wired connection then the most likely reasons are:
      • you're using an overloaded speedtest server - try this one
      • you're suffering from bandwidth congestion

Unfortunately, Connect will sometimes suffer from the latter.

      Re: Speed Problems

I have tryed lots of speed tests and thay all seem to come back with around the same connection speed
I tryed the one u suggested and this is what it came back with
Namesco BroadbandMax Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL connection speed
Is there anything else i can do?
