Can I achieve better speeds on Adsl max?

      Hi

I'm hoping to find some answers here as sky aren't very helpful.
Ok, here goes, long story cut short.

Got Sky connect, now sky is enabled in my exchange (waterlooville) asked for sky mid package, was told there was no line available. Complained and got connect for 5(result) Phoned again to ask for the mid package and was told there was no point in changing over as my speeds wouldn't increase.

Now before i phone back again would someone please check my stats to see what my line looks capable of. I'd also like to go on the max package aswell but not sure if its worth it now. I generally get about 2500-2700kbps download speeds. And my downstream rate sometimes climbs up to around 5700Kbps on my router stats.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. The guys here are awesome, keep it up fella's.

Re: Can I achieve better speeds on Adsl max?

with an attenuation of 50db, the only benefit ofgoing on max is the higher upload speed and unlimited download. YOu won't get dl speed of more than the 8Mb.

In fact, for a stable connection, you would get around 4-5Mb (you could get more, but you'd probably find the connection unstable).

Re: Can I achieve better speeds on Adsl max?

Thanks for the advice. As i'm still on the connect line is it worth badgering sky to put me on the 8mb mid package then? Would I be achieving around the same speeds on sky as I am with with connect? I just don't want sky fobbing me off if it would be more beneficial for me to be on the mid package.
