    Speed question

    This is a discussion on Speed question within the Speed tests and how to get better results forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; I am on skymax mainly because of the unlimited downloads but what i would like to know is if anyone ...

      Speed question

      I am on skymax mainly because of the unlimited downloads but what i would like to know is if anyone thinks i shoul dtry to get adsl2 to see if my speed increases. I normally get approx 2-2.5 meg i have attached stats and would appreciate any feedback.

      No, ADSL2+ wouldn't help your speed at all - your attenuation is too high.

      In fact, your connection stability would probably suffer. G.DMT is far more tolerant of line issues and boy, do you have line issues. Your current connection speed of 3200kbps is exceptional for an attenuation of 62db, especially with those errors. I'd imagine your noise margin takes a hit in the evenings?

      Thought it was and as for noise the level has dropped as low as 2.9db.
