      Slow speed

Hi, I'm on MAX and was getting about 6meg down with a noise margin of about 7db. Looking on here I found out about the ring wire being a possible problem so on Saturday I tried to take it out of my socket. My download speed went up to 7 meg but my noise margin went up to 20db. Did I take out the right wire?

Incidentally, Sunday my download went to 3meg, and yesterday was at 5meg. Odd.

Anyway, here's my latest stats if anybody could give me any clues...cheers.

      Re: Slow speed

There's good information on the ring wire, and which is what, here, Phil's corner: ADSL tweaking.

      Re: Slow speed

Greyrider, reading the info on the link you posted, I think I have disconnected the right wire.

I'm still a bit concerned about my noise margin of 20DB though. I haven't seen anybody else with one so high. Do you know if my stats are OK?

Sorry it's only for a few hours data. My 3 year old son likes messing with switches and somehow turned off the router yesterday.

      Thanks for your help.

      Regards.

I'm not that up on MAX to be able to advise you on this but there's an excellent and detailed explanation here, http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/speed...explained.html , from those who can

Weird, that was my post but the forum saw me as being unregistered? Odd
