      Mail Delivery System - Message contains spam or virus or sender is blocked

      Hi, hope you can help, over the last couple of days I have been unable to send to one of my regular contacts, I keep getting the following notification:-
      The local mail transport system has reported the following problems
      it encountered while trying to deliver your message:


      -------------------------------------------------------------------
      *** regular contact email address was here ***
      571 5.7.1 Message contains spam or virus or sender is blocked : 16556:2308228864|5BF96F8
      -------------------------------------------------------------------


      Your mail message is being returned to you in the next part of this
      message.


      Should you need assistance, please mail postmaster @ removed.


      Please could you advise why i can no longer send to this email address?

      It is possible the Postmaster will not be visiting the Forum for several days so you should really follow the procedure laid down in the first post -
      How to apply for an SMTP account or tell us that there is something wrong with your SMTP account

      Any problems with the SMTP server or to apply for an SMTP account, please contact us using this form, letting us know your forum username and don't forget to supply a password that you wish to use, one that is not used for anything else. If you are applying and you are not signing up from your Sky Broadband Connection, please also supply your Sky.com email address, so that we can verify that you are a Sky Broadband Customer.

      I have seen the message sent, and I can only assume it is to do with this post.

      As we are now on 2 blacklists.

      We are taking steps to sort this, but it is a matter of time, normally 7 days before it is deemed clean from spam.

      Nothing else we can do I am afraid, this is what happens when users let their PCs become compromised, everyone else suffers.
