      Cant Send Emails

      Hello.

We have recently switched from tesco mail to sky. Our tesco account is still open so thats all good and working. Our problem is that we cant send emails. We can receive but not sent. Sky said that they dont have any infomation on them, but people have done it before. I am using Outlook 2003. Please help, we really need to start sending.

      Thanks

      Joe

      Re: Cant Send Emails

Have a look at this tutorial - Sky User - Outlook 2003 Settings For Sky Email

One thing to watch is that in the username space, put in your full sky email address ie xxxxxxx@sky.com Many miss this and get a failure.

      Re: Cant Send Emails

I can confirm that Tom's solution is the only one for Tesco's email account.

I had one assigned to me for a job I got involved with.

The only way to get the Tesco email address included with any sent mail, with no hint of your Sky email address, would be to send by signing into your Tesco account through your browser and using that to compose the message.

No not really, there is also the SkyUser SMTP account.

This will allow the use of the tesco address "with no hint of your Sky email address" , however the tesco account is likely to stop working soon so you may want to get people to know your new address.

Oh phooey! There's always another option with computers.

      Re: Cant Send Emails

Thanks Everyone. I seem to have done it by my own accord. Not a clue how. The only thing is, is that I have to change the username and password if i want to send an email or receive an Email. Not a massive problem but... I will have a read on the links posted and get back to you all.

      Thankyou
      Joe

      Re: Cant Send Emails

      Joe,

I am in similar situation. Had Tesco email account and have now switched to Sky. I can send emails but I want them to be sent as the tesco email and not the sky one but can't see what settings to change to get this. What did you do to get this to work?

      Re: Cant Send Emails

There is a simple answer, if you want to continue with a Tesco address, use the webmail. - Login

If you want to use the Sky email servers, use your Sky email address. The alternative is to apply for a Skyuser SMTP account.

I don't know why users expect to send emails from Sky using another company's details, its a bit like going into MacDonalds and demanding a Starbucks coffee
