Re: sky+ sub to be srapped
I haven't had much luck with SKY+ boxes. I'm on my 8th box in 16 months but I've got to admit when the Sky+ works it is a great piece of kit. No more messing about with Video Cassets or DvD discs, records straight onto hard drive.

Re: sky+ sub to be scrapped
I agree Sky + is brilliant.
You do not need to subscribe to Sky multi room so long as you are satisfied with only receiving one channel at a time. on both TVs I have been using one of those "Magic Eye" devices for about 5 years. They only cost about a fiver now, but you will require an extra Sky remote control to have totally independent control. Simple run some ordinary coax cable from the powered output on the Sky+ box to the "Magic Eye" on your second TV and Bobs your uncle.
Just a small contribution for all the help I received on this forum.

Re: sky+ sub to be scrapped
If this is true then I can forecast a move to Sky+ in our house as being an absolute certainty. The idea of paying £120 a year because we don't watch movies or sports just seemed ridiculous. However with a one off payment for installation and a box I think the move would be worth it.
With regards to Sky+ boxes becoming standard though, will new subscribers who take out multiroom only have the option of Sky+ boxes? If so the limit for one dish is four outputs (i think) which would mean customers can only have a maximum of 2 rooms with Sky? Unless a second dish is fitted which would delight the neighbors no end I'm sure.

I believe there are Octo LNBs (an LNB with 8 outputs) so maybe Sky will make them the standard LNB???? see the last product at: Sky minidish LNBs (as you can see they are the same price as Quad LNBs).
