SKYiO link and TV Link Magic Eye connection to my SKY+HD Box
I currently view an Upstairs Bedside TV via a Wireless A/V Sender unit and Infra Red Channel Changer,[AEI Digisender Gold]this has worked reasonably well for a few years, but has become troublesome recently, changing channels often completely freezes everything and a complete unplug and restart is required.
I was wondering if "The SKY iO Link Box and TV Link Magic Eye" might be a better option now as, my Sky+HD Box has the built in Wireless Connection?
If there is a Forum Member out there who could help me with this, and has experience of installation/ setting it up without a Coaxial cable extending from the lounge to the Bedroom,I would be extremely grateful as I do not wish to install the Multi Room option.

Hardwiring is always better than using WiFi, your Box having a wifi connection is irrelevant as this is not used for a magic eye Set up to the remote TV.
The I/O links is connected to the Magic Eye via Coax and you then turn on the RF power in the hidden installer menu. Simples.

If the digisender gives good sound and picture you could use the Sky+ App on a smartphone to change channel or play recorded programmes.

Re: SKYiO link and TV Link Magic Eye connection to my SKY+HD Box
Thanks for letting me know! I have installed the app on my phone, but have not a clue how to change channels with it,can you explain more fully as it may resolve the issue of channel changing on the Bedroom TV.
I have signed in with my Sky User and password and now have the Sky Planner and TV guide displayed, does the smartphone replace the Sky Remote??
I have synced the phone with my Sky+HD Box,and now have a list of my recordings available on the Hard Drive.
What next or can you guide me to a set of instructions?
Cheers Michael

Go to the TV Guide and press a channel to switch to or go to the planner and select a programme to playback

Click on the target icon (top right next to the magnifying glass) which will bring up a menu at the bottom of the screen.
To change channel click on keypad icon and you will be prompted to enter the channel number.

Sky+HD is better in some ways. You cannot (yet?) do this with Sky Q.

Re: SKYiO link and TV Link Magic Eye connection to my SKY+HD Box
I haven't tried Sky Q so I may be biased but taking into account the spec. of each service and owning versus leasing the set top boxes I will be keeping my existing subscription and the Sky(+) HD boxes.
