2nd cable not recognised by Sky+HD box

I have 3 LNBs on my dish, and two cables.

One cable feeds the SKY+HD box.
One cable feeds a Foxsat HDR box. I use the Foxsat box for Freesat and for foreign language channels, and it operates well in both Freesat mode (28.2) and non-Freesat mode (on 19.2).

I would like to run a second cable into the Sky box to get full functionality and have tried various ways of connecting to the cable used for the Foxsat box - using the output feed from the Foxsat box and then using a splitter (having switched Single Feed Mode to Off). No signal showing on Sky Input 2. Finally I just bypassed the Foxsat setup and plugged the cable directly into the Sky box. No signal on either Input 2 or Input 1.

So, a cable that shows a strong signal when used on the Foxsat box shows no signal when plugged into the Sky+HD box.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

You probably have a Disecq switch on your dish which will not work with a sky box. Your best option will be to fit a quad lnb and run a 3rd cable.

Yes indeed, there is a Disecq switch, and if that does not work with a Sky box it explains the mystery. I am not sure I have the option of a third cable in our situation, so if that is the only solution I may have to accept single cable operation.
      Thanks for your help.
