      Sky+ remote

My sky+ remote has stopped working almost completely. The LED on the remote flashes when i press buttons but my box doesn't register the command unless I put the remote 6 inches from the sensor, then I can use the remote control as normal. Is the remote the fault or the sensor in the box? Just wanted to ask before I buy either. Thanks

Remove one battery and press Select for 60 seconds. Re-insert battery and try again.
