Picture break up on some channels
I have Sky+ and recently found that some channels are breaking up/freezing quite badly. The terrestrial channels are all ok but the Sky channels and LFCTV are breaking up to various degrees with some freezing completely. I have checked all of the connection which seem fine and even swapped the two inputs over but the problem remains. Interesting, if I record one of the problematic channels and then what it back the problem is gone and the channels plays fine! I have a Thomson Sky+ box.
Any ideas what the problem is and how it could be fixed?

Re: Picture break up on some channels
I suspect it will be the usual Thomson PSU capacitor problem. Quite a number of these boxes ( also the Thomson HD boxes ) are failing now. Use Search above for more on 'Thomson PSU'.
You could equally have a dish/LNB problem, but you won't know unless you try another box on your setup, or yours on someone else's.Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),
