Sky box web browser
Hi,
don't know if it has been covered before, but now that I have my box connected to my router, have Sky got any plans to include a web browser on the current system. Seems as though this would not be too difficult to achieve and could offer web access from your current tv.

sky haven't mentioned anything about this currently. But they are miles ahead in technology and this is probably something in the pipeline.

I doubt whether the box would have enough memory or CPU power to cope.

Re: Sky box web browser
to be honest what's the point, there are so many ways of acessing the internet via broadband that a Sky box browser would seem very late to the table.
The problem with making the HD boxes do even more would be the fact they would have to be a fully written browser written for the box, tested and rolled out.
There would also have to work out a way of getting mouse and keyboard functionality sorted.
And lets not forget that if they say Sky LLU customers only they will be doing all this for a tiny part of their user base.
Sky at the monent are shutting down loss making departments at the monent and something like this will cost money with very little benefit to SkyI'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Mouse and keyboard shouldn't be an issue. Anyone remember the old infra red thing from years back? I think i've still got one somewhere!! Can't for the life of me what it was called tho.
