Sky + box fee
This must be a frequent issue, but I am disappointed to be told that I have to pay £149 for a Sky+box upgrade when I have been paying £65 a month for some time, which offers "4 pack" sport and movies etc, etc.
Is it not advisable for me to cancel my subscription and then register once again with the offer of the sky+box for free? I cannot see any rewards in place for being loyal to Sky as a service provider.
I would welcome posts relating to this from anyone who is going through the same experience or has found a way around it.

Re: Sky + box fee
Sky never rewards existing customers. Just look at the HD wait fiasco. Re-register in a new name instead.

Re: Sky + box fee
Not quite true. I gave 6 vouchers away for free a HD box and free install, all to existing customers, all installed within days.
It must be certain areas the wait is on for people.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Sky + box fee
You could threaten to cancel, and Sky may offer you a better deal, or call your bluff.
You could get a free HD box if you pay the install charge and then the £10 a month HD subscription. The HD box could be used just as a Sky+ box and would work with or without a HD ready TV
There are also some threads on here, with a voucher for free HD box and free install, that you could maybe PM the thread starter with a request for one.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Sky + box fee
Absoloutely. Very odd though, days for some months for others, but why?
It's certianly not a minority that are waiting either, just punch sky hd waiting list in to google; lots of results, lots of complaints.

Re: Sky + box fee
I fully accept that there are plenty of people waiting for install, but as I said, I bet they are in areas where there are fewer contractors / Sky installers.
In an ideal world install for everyone should be within a few days, not months.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

All of the complaints are months old and refer to the time when HD boxes were put on special offer. There is no waiting list now, some boxes are being installed within a week of ordering.

Well, the results might be old, but go on digital spy, av forums, etc... you'll still find people waiting.
