Exhaust fan on permanently after hard drive u/g Hi
Having run out of space on my Amstrad DRX280 I have taken a punt at a new hard drive (namely: Western Digital WD2500AVJB).
Although it works the cooling fan is permanently on and audibly so.
Not wanting to unplug it, is this a known issue with all or most replacements and is there a cheap workaround?
Also, are the new sky+ units still shipped with measly 160GB units (i.e. 80 useable GBs) and still PATA drives instead of SATA?

The old Sky+ boxes will have the fan on permanently when upgrading the HDD.
You can replace it with a quieter fan (eg a silenx) which is hardly audiable.
