Sky+ Multiroom
I've had Sky+HD for a while, and have recently finally been able to order a new (normal) Sky+ box for another room and take a multiroom subscription.
Just have one quick question .. relating to the new Sky+ box that will be installed towards the end of October, when will I get the Sky Card for that multiroom box? Will it arrive in the post in a week or two (only placed the order on Friday), or will it be within a few days before it's due to be installed.
Only ask this as when I had Sky Digital installed originally, the card never turned up in time for the installer to do anything with it, so had no channels for days, so want to make sure I know when I am likely to get it!

Re: Sky+ Multiroom
I ordered multi room for when I move (11th). Sky are coming out the 15th to install my HD and Sky +, and I received my second viewing card last week. So on that basis, I would say at least 2 weeks prior the engineer calling

Re: Sky+ Multiroom
As an update to this, the installer is still set to arrive next Saturday (24th) and to date, with less than a week to go I still haven't received the additional viewing card for the new Sky+ Multiroom box. So I rang Sky yesterday to chase for it given the problems with the post at the moment, to make sure I get it before next weekend, and after a bit of searching around and being put through to three different people, they said they won't be sending one out and that the installer will bring one with the new box and will pair that to the new box.
I've never heard of that before, I didn't think installers provided viewing cards, and they said it's a relatively new thing. As I wasn't convinced with the answer, I rang back again an hour or so later and spoke to someone else who said the same thing.
Is this right?! I always thought Sky sent the cards out?!

Re: Sky+ Multiroom
As far as I know they normally send the card through the post.
Who knows sky may have changed the process that they use to send out the cards to new customers.

Re: Sky+ Multiroom
Its not something I've come across but since the postal strike is due Sky can send the cards to each engineer via there normal stock collection point.
Engineer can then give the card to the customer.
Dont know whay they dont do that anyway.

I surpose it is a better and faster way and means not having to count on royal mail to get it to you.
