SKY+ Repeated Technical fault 30 on all channels
Hi. Can anyone out there help?
I've given up on Sky - they're no help at all and now want to send an Engineer for £65 even though the fault started when the box was less than a year old ( but I called them 2 days late!).
Basically, I keep finding the box showing technical fault 30 on all channels (" There is a technical fault with this channel. Please try later"). Unplugging the power for a minute fixes it but the problem recurs within days. The problem stops programs recording if the box goes into fault mode before or during the recording. I've just come back from a weeks holiday and the box stopped recording 2 days after I left.
I suspect that the box loses the satellite signal due to weather, but then does not recover when the satellite signal improves. That said, when I check the signal level using the system test menu, both tuners are only showing about 50%. There has been rather a lot of bad weather recently but maybe that's just a coincidence?
Sky technical talked me through a planner rebuild but that doesn't seem to have halped at all and their expertise seems to end there. (Apart from turning the power off and then back on!).
All ideas very welcome before I get so fed up with it that I cancel Sky altogether(My broadband constantly plays up as well!).

Call Sky and plead to their better nature and you will get a free service call or take out insurance cover and get a call out via that.
Get the box and LNB changed.
