Re: Phone Line Connection
Will see if I can find a spare cable. I assume that as the install requires a phone line check that the modem in the box works.
I think we have a spare cable about.TV:Sky + (Variety and Knowledge) - Broadband: Connect - Phone: Freetime

Re: Phone Line Connection
Check to make sure that both the White and Blue phone cables are connected correctly to that extension block.
I had one when I had my install and they are very rubbish. Make sure the cables haven't come loose.Regards

Re: Phone Line Connection
Those type of telephone connectors are used mostly by Firstline and they are notoriously rubbish (The connectors, That is.) and can work and not work intermittently. Check the wires are in correctly (The diagram is printed backwards, Blue/White goes into White/Blue and visa-versa.) also make sure the cable is connected into the same side on both connections. If that doesnt work, Swap the cable around (So instead of being in the left as you look at it, its in the right.) Occasionally swapping it a few times makes it work.
Also, Check the engineer hasn't bared the wires inside. The box is designed to clamp into the cable through the casing. If they bare the wires, like some of the lads do, the connection tends to be intermittent.
Telephone lines with those sockets are a real pain.

Re: Phone Line Connection
Try getting a phone extension cable from B & Q to test out the box. If the box works with the B & Q cable, it's your wiring at fault. If it doesn't, the Sky box is faulty.
