Red face Unable to bring Sky+ box out of standby -Help?

      Morning all

I recently tried to turn my Sky+ box on after it's usual nighly hibernation, and was unable to do so - the red light stubbornly refuses to go off. As such, I can't force any refresh or reset, in fact, I can't do anything.
Is it doomed to the repair shop/replacement, or has anyone experienced and overcome this problem before?
      Thanks

Have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes?

Also try without the LNB leads connected.

If Smithy's advice did not solve the problem, you may have either a failing PSU or a Hard drive failure. Sky will charge you 65 for a call out which will include a relacement box. Unless you have the box covered with Sky.

Thumbs up Re: Unable to bring Sky+ box out of standby -Help?

a good fix is turn the box off at the mains

hold down left and right nav buttons which is next to the up and down circal on front off box only not remote
plug in mains with other hand
when the record light comes on press select on front off box that will do a full reset and work if that dont then the box is broke .please note it will wipe the full hard drive

thanks to a sky bloke who fix mine a while back on my amstrad

Yup, if it's an Amstrad, there is a fix as described above on the Sky website:

      Sky.com - Sky Help Centre>Product Help
