      Thumbs down Sky+ interference..

      Hi folks!

Ill start by saying hi and also an advanced thanks for taking some time to help

      So the issue..

I live in a flat with a communal dish with only 1 feed
I have recently nabbed my old mans Sky+ box after he upgraded to HD
Im also a Sky Broadband user (not sure if the issue is related but recently the bandwidth has been more then useless.. havnt even been able to stream iPlayer)

We have an intermittent interference problem with channels; BBC2, Channel4 and occasionally others, but mainly these two. Sometimes its fine, sometimes its like you'd imagen with high winds or something and sometimes its' No Signal Being Received' its very frustrating

Before I installed the Sky+ we had a weird issue with Ch4 when it occasionally had no signal, but if you flick off it and on it again it worked fine.

To try and resolve the issue i have re-synced the card and box, System update and System reset.. but unfortunately with no results.
Also checked that the wireless router/cordless phone/surround sound isnt causing any issues, which they dont.

      Box is a Pace 6.3.06 9F2204
Router is a Netgear someting or other

Thanks again, and if you need more info let me know

      Luke

It's probaly the multiswitch not switching correctly. Get the managing agents to fix it, it's why you pay the maintenance charge!!

Not sure what a multiswitch is, but ive checked with other residents who have Sky and they are having no problems at all.

      Thanks, Luke

The multiswitch is the box of tricks that distribute the sky sigs around your building. It may just have 1 faulty output and you're unlucky enough to be connected to it!! Where in the UK are you, and who are your managing agents?

      Re: Sky+ interferance..

      Im in Reading, Berkshire.

When I first moved in and got Sky fitted, there was an issue with the dish then. I happened to be the first in the flats (only 5) to have Sky fitted, so we found it out. The management company replaced something then, which solved the loss of signal. But that was only 2 years ago.. would it have broken so quickly?

Management company is a small company called Hurst Warne Management.

      Thanks, Luke
