Re: Remote Control - not Sky
I had a Philips Pronto and a Marantz, the latter better than the former..
BUT I now use, and highly recommend the Logitech Harmony 895, or if you don't need RF control (allows you to hide stuff and operate from different room) then get the 885

Doddle to programme - FULLY customisable, and the MAcros are great - It's "activity" based so when you pick it up, you choose, say "Watch Sky HD" and it will turn on the Plasma, set it to HDMI1, turn on the AV receiver, set it to the correct optical input, and turn on the HD box too - all from one button press and in approx 1.5 seconds.
You then get full control of the HD box whilst using it, and I have the following macros set up for the HD box:
TV Guide
HD Guide
Planner
Planner A-Z List
Anytime TV
Again, all accessible via one button press - Changing activity to say "Watch DVD" will turn off the HD box, turn on the DVD and eject the disc tray if it is empty, switch the AV receiver to the other optical input etc etc...
They really are the business, and you can get an 885 on Ebay for £60 or £70!!
Don't get the Harmony one or the 555!
All setup is done on your PC and then you connect the remote via a std USB cable to program it. It also keeps the firmware etc up to date, and has acces to codes for virtually every type of device, from X10 home automation devices, to XBox 360's
Oh, and when you press OFF - It Turns everything off too!
