      sky + not recording

      Hi as a new member please excuse me if i am going over old territory but i bought a second hand supposedly reconditioned pace TDS470N sky + box ( 80 Gb ) and had it fit by a qualified fitter who mached it up with a quad LNB. it worked fine for a few days but now when i record something and try to watch the recording a blue screen appears with a popup box that says; Recording Interupted please wait, so i wait and watch the nice green light go round and round on the front but then get a message saying; recording finished press backup to return. Please can anyone tell me what has gone wrong ? I have already done a full system reset ( didn`t work ) and I have just done a planner rebuild and am in the process of recording something to see if it works now . any advice would be very much appreciated, Nocker22.

      Sounds like the hard drive is stuffed. You can get replacements, see the thread on here for upgrading your Sky+.

      The only other thing you could try is a software update, unplug, hold down the backup button on the receiver and plug in again, wait until you see the message on screen.

      By what your saying sound like everything has been set up at your end. From what I understand from your post above you have change your sky box, in which case a phone call will be needed to repair the viewing card to the box. If it the first time you had the sky+ install best to tell sky this so that they can add sky+ and the recording features onto the account. Other thing to check is to see if the software on your box is up to date.

      hi, thanks for the help. ended up phoning sky tech services explained what was wrong 10 secs of the guy tapping on a keyboard his end and hey presto it seems to be working ok now. why don`t they make things simpler? many thanks again, nocker

      Chances are he's re-paired the card to the receiver.

      Try recording something on one of the subscription channels and see if it plays.

      your welcome nocker22. A phone call was the only way to resolved this problem. Glad it all fix.
