Sky+ box crash, losing all recordings & record/pause functions
Tried turning the sky+ box on last saturday night, and it wouldnt turn on. Unplugged it and left it overnight. Turned it back on sunday morning, and all the recorded programs and planned programs had gone. Planner was empty. Also lost the record and play/pause function, and lost sky anytime. It like it had turned into a normal sky box. Phoned Sky, and they said that a software update had messed the box up, along with a lot of other peoples, and the only way to fix it was a full system reset.
Same thing happened at 1930 GMT last night. Box went off, and came back on 5mins later with the same results. Phoned Sky again, and this time they said there is no way a software update would do this, and it is probably a problem with the box. They are sending an engineer out to fix/replace the box. What was a bit odd is that they are not charging me for this - I didnt have to haggle them down on the call out charge at all.
I have an Amstrad A2P0524 box if that helps.
Can anyone offer any more info, and has this happened to anyone else?

Further to this, the box has done it again this morning. Three times in less than 2 weeks. Maybe it is the box, not an update from Sky....

Re: Sky+ box crash, losing all recordings & record/pause functions
We were able to fix this easily, when the exact same thing happened to us, with a planner rebuild. After the reboot, the planner in its previous state re-appeared, as did all the recording functions.
